Steph Talbot has stepped up for the Adelaide Lightning in their time of need to clinch a thrilling 99-93 overtime victory against the Geelong Venom.
Talbot was everywhere in the see-sawing encounter that saw 34 lead changes, scoring 32 points as well as posting nine rebounds and five assists at the South Australian State Basketball Centre on Friday.
It was the second encounter between the two teams after the Venom smashed Adelaide by 24 points in round two, but this game was much different
Scores were tied at full-time, triggering the first overtime of the season.
And, Talbot who admitted she "wanted to be selfish" delivered, firing seven points to see out the win.
Victory in the highest-scoring match of the season was also helped by Sania Feagin who hit 22 points to go with 11 assists and Dallas Loughridge who netted 19 points.
The Adelaide Lightning will round out Round 6 by hosting the Townsville Fire at home on 25 November from 7pm AEDT.
We will next see the Geelong Venom take on the Sydney Flames in the opening game of Round 7 at the Quaycentre on 26 November from 7pm AEDT.
