Adelaide Lightning is set to secure the signature of exciting teenage forward Kiara Waite for the upcoming WNBL season, pending league approval.
The 19-year-old rising star joins Adelaide following a standout rookie campaign with the Perth Lynx for the past two seasons.
Known for her size, athleticism, and high ceiling, Waite is set to inject vibrant energy and versatility into the Lightning’s frontcourt.
Adelaide Lightning General Manager Tess Madgen is thrilled to attract one of the country’s best young talents to South Australia.
“We love her versatility, with the ability to play inside while also stretching the floor with her shooting. We’re really excited for her to join Zitina in anchoring our centre position. We’re also thrilled for Kiara, who has earned a fully rostered position, and can’t wait to see what she can do with a larger role.”

Originally from Perth, Waite is looking forward to her interstate move and starting a new chapter in her professional career.
