Adelaide Lightning v Canberra Capitals
The Lightning are back home on Tuesday night to open the inaugural WNBL Pride Round, and there’s plenty riding on this one against the Canberra Capitals.
The season series is locked at 1–1, and with finals hopes starting to fade, motivation won’t be hard to find. Winning this series at home, in front of their own crowd, matters — it’s about pride, momentum, and finishing the season with intent.
Canberra return to Adelaide without Jade Melbourne and Sarah Blicavs, which shifts the dynamic but doesn’t make the task any easier. Adelaide know they still need to be sharp from the opening tip.
Dallas Loughridge will again set the tone. When she’s aggressive and playing downhill, the Lightning offence flows — and this feels like a night where her control and tempo can really shape the game.
Steph Talbot remains Adelaide’s heartbeat. Her ability to impact the game in so many ways — scoring, rebounding, defending, and creating — will be crucial, particularly in momentum moments.
Inside, Sania Feagin has a real opportunity to impose herself. Her physicality around the rim and presence on the glass could be a difference-maker, particularly in her matchup with Zitina Aokuso, where strength, second efforts, and control of the paint will matter.
More broadly, Adelaide will be looking for cleaner ball movement, fewer turnovers, and better conversion at the offensive end — turning pressure into points, and energy into runs.
